Opportunity Fair Is Scheduled for November 7

At the 2019 Opportunity Fair, students of all majors and interests can develop professional connections with companies and graduate programs in Portland and beyond. Students will hone their networking skills, meet with recruiters, and share their resume with interested companies and graduate programs, all without having to leave campus! Alumna Combines Entrepreneurship, Tech, and Equity to Win Business Competition

Renee Allums BA ’18 won this year’s PitchBlack business competition—an annual event that supports Portland’s Black business community by providing entrepreneurs with the opportunity to pitch their ideas and receive funding. Renee’s idea, called #tag, aims to provide protection and fair compensation for content creators by using cryptocurrency to represent digital ownership over concepts, ideas, and designs.

Lewis & Clark Announces Its New 4-5-6 Commitment!

Lewis & Clark offers multiple pathways to academic and professional success. Last spring, the institution organized these pathways under a new umbrella called the 4-5-6 Commitment. This is comprised of a bachelor of arts degree (BA) in eight semesters (four years) or we pay for the ninth; a BA along with a master of arts in teaching (MAT) from our Graduate School of Education and Counseling in five years; or a BA along with a doctor of jurisprudence (JD) from our law school in just six years, compared to the usual seven. New Scholarship Aims to Foster Oregon Entrepreneurship

A new merit scholarship encourages Oregon high school students to study entrepreneurship as part of their liberal arts experience. Scholarships will be available to selected students who apply to begin school in the fall of 2020. More information.

Senior Completes Competitive Ambassador Fellowship

Ellie Miller BA ’20 was chosen as one of only six undergraduate students in the nation to participate in the Council of American Ambassadors (CAA) Fellowship program in Washington, D.C. A French and psychology double major who also studies Arabic, Ellie stood out in a field packed with international affairs and political science majors. Read more about her experience.
