Niels Marquardt BA '75 Named Diplomat in Residence

Former United States Ambassador Niels Marquardt BA ’75 has been named Lewis & Clark’s first diplomat in residence. He will work closely with the Career Center and college departments to enrich the experience of students interested in international affairs, entrepreneurship, world languages, and other fields of study with global aspects. Professor Velazquez-Ulloa Awarded Biology Grant

Assistant Professor of Biology Norma Velazquez-Ulloa has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the Medical Research Foundation. She and two undergraduate students will expand their current research into how nicotine affects the nervous system during development. Learn more about Norma and her work.

38th Annual Gender Studies Symposium: Who Cares?

From March 13 to 15, this free event will explore the gendered politics and practices of care. The student-run symposium aims to encourage a dialogue about what it means to care and how care can be revolutionary and transformative. Keynotes by reproductive justice organizer and activist Monica Raye Simpson, award-winning sociologist Anna Guevarra, and MacArthur "Genius Grant" recipient and author Maggie Nelson.
