Divesting From Fossil Fuels: A Progress Report

Lewis & Clark’s study of and commitment to sustainability and the natural environment is tied to our unique place in the world. In February 2018, Lewis & Clark College’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to divest from fossil fuel holdings in the endowment. The board committed to full divestment from the college’s publicly traded investment strategies before December 31, 2022. Learn about our progress thus far.

Recent Alumna Joins The New York Times

Emma Grillo BA ’17 has gone from features editor at the student-run Pioneer Log to a staffer in The New York Times newsroom, putting into action skills from her time in the classroom and on off-campus programs. In addition to her staff writing for the Times, her freelance work covering tech, arts, and culture regularly appears in national publications.

Resonance Ensemble Awarded $100,000 Creative Heights Grant

The Oregon Community Foundation has awarded the Resonance Ensemble $100,000 for an ambitious collaboration with the Oregon Symphony and several independent artists to put on the world premiere of Damien Geter’s An African American Requiem on May 23, 2020. Lewis & Clark’s Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities Katherine FitzGibbon serves as Resonance Ensemble’s artistic director. Learn more about the project.
