Students Teach and Build Peace in Myanmar

For five weeks this summer, four students taught English to orphaned children in Myanmar through a self-designed project funded by 100 Projects for Peace. This summer, Associate Professor of History Andrew Bernstein and Associate Professor of Geological Science Elizabeth Safran led a special program to Japan to study Mount Fuji. Thirteen students spent seven weeks learning how the iconic mountain is an actor in, and a product of, both the physical world and the human imagination. View photos and read more.

Dean of Students Anna Gonzalez was recently recognized as an outstanding member of the student affairs and higher education community by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators Foundation, which named her as one of 12 recipients of the 2015 Pillars of the Profession award.
