Students Win Grant to Promote Peace in Egypt 

For the tenth year in a row, a team of Lewis & Clark students has been awarded a grant from 100 Projects for Peace, a program which funds undergraduate initiatives to promote global peace. Find out more about their winning proposal. 

President Glassner Published in the Los Angeles Times  

The Los Angeles Times has published the commentary of President Barry Glassner and coauthor Morton Schapiro, president and professor of economics at Northwestern University. The topic of discussion: the continued growth of students beyond high school and college graduation. 

Faculty Diversity Proposal Approved  

The Lewis & Clark Faculty Diversity Proposal was approved by more than 83 percent of faculty on Tuesday, April 5. The proposal recognizes and affirms the importance of diversity in all its forms, including race, ethnicity, national origin, socioeconomic background, religious orientation or spirituality, physical or sensory disability, gender, and sexual orientation. Women’s Tennis Team Wins Northwest Conference Tournament

For the first time in more than 35 years, the Lewis & Clark Pioneers are the Northwest Conference women’s tennis champions. Head Coach Patrick Dreves was also named Northwest Conference Coach of the Year. Read more about the team’s success. 

Student Health Insurance Changes for 2016–17 

In our ongoing efforts to provide a high-quality, portable, and affordable insurance program, we will be switching our student health insurance carrier this fall to PacificSource. Please visit our Student Health Insurance webpage to read about the changes to the provider network, benefit structure, and costs for next academic year’s plan.

Kimberly Brodkin Named Lewis & Clark Teacher of the Year

On April 20, students named as Teacher of the Year Kimberly Brodkin, assistant professor with term of Humanities and faculty director of the Gender Studies Symposium and the Ray Warren Symposium on Race and Ethnic Studies. Watch Kim’s acceptance speech.
