Nine Lewis & Clark graduates will spend next year teaching around the world after receiving awards from the Fulbright Program, which fosters mutual understanding among nations. Lewis & Clark is one of the top producers of Fulbright award winners in the country, demonstrating a sustained commitment to international education and engagement.

Matt Wuerker ’79 has won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning in recognition of “his consistently fresh, funny cartoons, especially memorable for lampooning the partisan conflict that engulfed Washington.” A cartoonist and illustrator for Politico, Wuerker has published in newspapers across the country.

At Lewis & Clark it’s not uncommon to hear the term “TCK.” It stands for Third Culture Kids, sometimes called global nomads, and describes students who have grown up in two or more countries, usually because of a parent’s work. Learn more about the unique perspective these students bring to campus.

Thanks to parent donors, each year Lewis & Clark students get more out of their education--more time with our outstanding faculty, more research opportunities, and more eye-opening overseas experiences. Summer School 2012: Session I courses are May 14 to June 22nd and Session II courses are June 25 to August 3rd. Payment is due before the first day of class. On-line registration ends on May 16th.
Student Athletes Arrive on Campus: Volleyball, soccer and cross country athletes back to campus on August 17; football, August 18. Fall Semester: Continuing student housing opens 9 a.m., Sunday, September 2. First day of class is Tuesday, September 4 (the day after Labor Day).
Homecoming & Family Weekend: Make plans to join in the celebration October 26-28, 2012. Meet faculty, take a class at Pioneer College, cheer on the Pios at the Homecoming game, and spend time with your student.
