Bruce Suttmeier Named Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences
|

On September 18, President Wim Wiewel announced that Bruce Suttmeier, associate professor of Japanese, has been appointed dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Suttmeier, who has been at Lewis & Clark since 2001, has been working as the interim dean since July 2017. Learn more about Bruce.

Symposium Focuses on Environment Across Boundaries

The 21st annual Environmental Affairs Symposium will kick off on Tuesday, October 23 with author, musician, and cultural ambassador Daryl Davis’ keynote event “Klan We Talk? Race, Environment, Engagement, and Empowerment.” More details.

Lewis & Clark Travels to Iceland and the San Juan Islands
|
|
In August, alumni, parents, and friends of the college participated in two Pioneer Travel adventures: sailing the San Juan Islands with Professor Emeritus Stephen Dow Beckham and exploring Iceland with Associate Professor of Geological Sciences Liz Safran. Both groups saw amazing sights, gained a great deal of knowledge, and made many wonderful memories along the way. Take a look at photos from these two most recent trips. The Board of Alumni Welcomes New Members

At its fall meeting on October 7, the board will welcome six new members: Mary Bodine-Watts BA ’09, JD ’13, Margi Brown ’64, Rudy Crew ’95, Edgard Garcia ’92, Stacy Rout-Thompson ’79, and Anthony Ruiz ’13. We give thanks to outgoing board members Carla Cavenago-Salazar ’89, Grant Frey ’83, Sheila Gallagher ’85, Mike Holtzclaw ’87, Koko Hunt ’99, Donna Manning ’61, and Dan Metcalf ’01 for their years of service and contributions to L&C.
