Audience Deconstructs What They Know at TEDx Event

Lewis & Clark’s first-ever TEDx event gave students the opportunity to take the stage and deconstruct the topic of their choice. A student team of organizers, led by Tuse Mahenya BA ’21 and Ariel McGee BA ’21, gets all the credit for the event’s success. Learn more about the event and watch videos of the talks.

Ray Warren Symposium Tackles Resistance and Revolution

The 16th annual Ray Warren Symposium on Race and Ethnic Studies—organized entirely by students—will be held from November 13–15. This year’s theme is Beyond Resistance: Race and Revolutionary Struggle, and will include keynote presentations, panels, an art show, and the Race Monologues. More details and a full schedule.

Travel With Your Pioneer Community!

Experience the vibrant world of music, dance, and art in Cuba. Meet with political, religious, and tribal leaders in Israel and the West Bank. Race on a historic sailing schooner in the Canadian Gulf Islands. Soak in the magical Mývatn Nature Baths in Iceland. All of these adventures are currently open for registration through our Pioneer Travel Program, with several additional trips in the planning stages. Join us!

Bates Center Gears Up for Winterim 2020

Sponsored by the Bates Center for Entrepreneurship and Leadership, Winterim 2020 will be held on campus January 12–17. The keynote speaker will be Theranos whistleblower Erika Cheung. Kick off the Holiday Season With Us

Mark your calendars for a holiday reception on Saturday, December 7. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with hearty appetizers, holiday desserts, and beverages in Frank Manor House. (Albany Society members can get a headstart on the evening at 4 p.m.) The annual Service of Sacred Song and Verse will follow in the chapel at 7 p.m.

Where to Find LOVE

Earlier this semester, one of acclaimed artist Robert Indiana’s iconic LOVE sculptures was unveiled in the plaza outside J.R. Howard Hall. The statue will only be on campus during the fall semester, so stop by soon and take a selfie!
