Armed with a degree in sociology/anthropology, Karissa Tom ’16 will be spending her summer in Atlanta as our first John Lewis Fellow. She will be studying civil rights, immigration, and racial justice through her work with the international nonprofit Humanity in Action. Read more about this fellowship.

Eve Lowenstein ’17 Awarded Goldwater Scholarship

Rising senior Eve Lowenstein joins the ranks of high-achieving students to be recognized by the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship program, bringing the total of Lewis & Clark students to win this prestigious award in the last decade to 15. The Goldwater program supports undergraduates in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics. Read more about Eve’s research interest.

On May 7, students, families, friends, faculty, and staff—nearly 5,000 people—gathered for the 144th Commencement Ceremony celebrating the class of 2016. For the first time ever, commencement was held at Memorial Coliseum, ensuring plenty of room for all.
