Young Alum Finds Her Place on the Portland Stage

Theatre major Alex Leigh Ramirez BA ’10 recently performed in Portland Center Stage’s original production, The Oregon Trail. She played “Then Jane,” a character whose historical struggles in the 1840s counter the modern struggles of “Now Jane,” an apathetic teenager playing “The Oregon Trail” video game on her overachieving sister’s couch in the 1980s. Record Crowds Enjoy Homecoming and Family Weekend

Alumni and families traveled from near and far to celebrate Homecoming and Family Weekend 2016. We cheered on Pioneer football and volleyball, dined on clam chowder at the tailgate, watched Bryan Sebok’s award-winning documentary, Food Truck: The Movie, and recognized the legacies of professors Peter Christenson and Herschel Snodgrass for their combined 61 years on Palatine Hill. Current faculty spoke at Pioneer Colleges, we celebrated the new Athletics Hall of Fame inductees, and welcomed three new members to the Board of Alumni. It was a busy, wonderful weekend. Enjoy these photos!
