Dear Parents and Families,

Your students received this information yesterday and we want to share it with you as well. As a reminder, the Parents and Families website is a great resource for announcements and campus information.

149th Annual Commencement Ceremony
Saturday, May 7, 2022
2:00pm PDT
Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Tickets

Tickets will be emailed to graduating seniors this week! Please keep an eye out for an email from our office with your tickets. They will be electronic. Guests can either print their tickets or show them on their mobile devices once they arrive at the venue.

We will not be making any more modifications to tickets to ensure that you receive them on time.

Any staff or faculty wishing to attend the ceremony will not need a ticket, they just need to show their L&C ID to enter.

COVID Policies

You all should have received an email today about mandatory masks at this year's ceremony. In alignment with the college's mandatory mask policy and with consideration of the increased number of positive cases on campus, masks at the ceremony WILL BE MANDATORY. Guests not wearing a mask will be asked to wear one. Anyone refusing to wear a mask will be turned away, even if they have a ticket. COVID-19 is unpredictable and our policies have been evolving with the pandemic, we appreciate your understanding and patience with us as we take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of our community.

Please be sure to communicate with your guests to bring their own masks. We will have limited quantities available at the door. Any mask that covers both your mouth and nose will be acceptable.

Transportation

Shuttle Info:
A shuttle will be provided from campus to the Veterans Memorial Coliseum on the day of commencement. It will pick up at the current Pio stop (in between Campus Safety and the Upper Griswold parking lot), and it will drop off on N Winning Way in front of the Coliseum. You can find the shuttle schedule here.

Parking Info:
There will be parking garages available for the commencement ceremony. We recommend parking in the Garden Garage. The East and West garages will also be available. Please see this map for reference. Parking will cost $10.

Lineup Instructions

Please read the student lineup instructions to ensure you are aware of the order of processional. When you arrive at the Coliseum, there will be 2 staff members at the top of the staircases to the left and right of the venue entrance. Please go to these staff members who will instruct you down the stairs to the student lineup room (Georgia Pacific Room). It is very important that you read the lineup instructions to ensure you know what to do at the ceremony.

Floral/Lei Orders

Lewis & Clark has partnered with Floral Sunshine to provide you and your family the opportunity to purchase leis and floral bouquets. Please make sure to place your orders soon to ensure you receive your flowers on time! Floral Sunshine will have a designated area outside the ceremony entrance location from 12 pm - 3 pm for the purchaser to pick up. They will also have a few selections onsite for purchase but quantities will be limited.

Senior Baccalaureate

Senior Baccalaureate is an opportunity for the Class of ‘22 to come together to reflect, honor, and celebrate our experiences together over the last several years as we graduate and transition forward. On May 6th from 1 - 2 pm, we will gather in Agnes Flanagan Chapel for stories, music, and conversation to share Our Shimmering Memories. Listen to classmates sing, reflect, dance, read poetry, and display animation. Sepideh Bajracharya, SOAN faculty, will offer some reflections as well.

Please bring your loved ones.

A light reception will follow in the Gregg Pavilion from 2 - 2:30 p.m.

We are asking Seniors to Submit their Memories for a Time Capsule! Please fill out this form to share a note, photo, video, art, or other memory of your time in college or a reflection on where you are at this moment. We will collect these submissions and may share them at the event. People can also bring tangible items to the event to put in the time capsule as well. The time capsule of memories will be opened again at the 10-year Reunion.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send Hilary Martin Himan (hmhiman@lclark.edu) an email.
