The College learned today that two CAS students tested positive for COVID-19 as part of the entrance-testing clinic held on campus on Friday, January 22. One of these students resides off-campus. This student was last on-campus for the testing clinic on Friday. This student has been supported into isolation, and contact tracing is underway. The second student resides on-campus. This student has been supported into isolation, and contact tracing has been completed. No close contacts were identified for this student.

We have now received all of the results from entry testing completed over the last two weeks. This semester Lewis & Clark has administered 2,267 COVID-19 tests to employees and students from all three campuses. Positive cases represent 0.26% of the total tests administered.

The small percentage of CAS students who were neither tested last week nor cleared by Wellness staff will not be allowed to attend in-person instruction until they have been cleared by Wellness staff.

For transparency, the College maintains and regularly updates our COVID notification dashboard. More information about positive cases, and potential campus impacts, can be found on our COVID-19 Confirmed Cases Status Report.

As a reminder:

Students with symptoms of COVID-19 are expected to immediately self-isolate in their residence; complete the COVID Self-Check and Reporting Form (SCARF), available through the Health Information Portal; consult with a healthcare provider, and follow the directions of that healthcare provider. This consultation can be provided by Health Service staff between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. Anytime the Health Service is closed, students can access the Nurse Consultation Service at 1-844-915-2069. Students with symptoms need to follow the Guidelines for Self-Isolation.

Employees with symptoms of COVID-19 are expected to stay at their residence and may not come to campus. Employees are to inform AVP and Director for Human Resources Heyke Kirkendall-Baker, seek medical advice from their regular health care provider or public health authority, and follow the Monitoring, Isolation and Quarantine Plan for Lewis & Clark Employees.
