Manor House summer2

Dear Parents,

The following information was sent to L&C students earlier today.

Dear College of Arts and Sciences Students,

While the air quality on campus is expected to remain poor today and tomorrow, the weather is forecast to be substantially better late Monday and over the next few days. Rain is in the forecast, and the air should get much better as the week progresses. Earlier today, for adjacent areas of Clackamas County, the evacuation alerts were removed.

I surveyed the residence halls this morning, and while one can smell the smoke inside, the buildings are safe, and temperatures are generally moderate.

Unless you have significant health issues, we strongly advise against leaving campus to seek clearer air elsewhere. If you have left or feel you must leave campus, you may apply for an exception by filling out a form from this webpage.

If you leave, we expect you to be self-isolating, and we are working on protocols for when you come back, which may include additional self-isolation and a COVID-19 test.

The Health Service will be open Monday and each day this week for telehealth consults.

This is a very difficult time, but things will get better. With patience and cooperation we will get through this. Thanks for doing your part.

Sincerely,

Robin Holmes-Sullivan
Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students
