Dear Students,

We’re pleased to announce that we will be offering a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on the Lewis & Clark campus on Tuesday, May 4. If you are a summer residential student, you will also receive another invitation, but please use the appointment link in this email for priority access.

The clinic will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Pamplin Sports Center. In order to receive a vaccination, you must sign up for an available appointment using this link. If all spots are filled, please contact Heyke Kirkendall-Baker at hkirkendall-baker@lclark.edu, and we will try to increase capacity to meet demand.

Please schedule your appointment by the end of the day on Saturday, May 1. After you have signed up for an available time slot, you should receive a confirmation email.

For students staying on campus this summer beyond May 20, we highly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity if you have not already been vaccinated. The Moderna vaccine, which is a two-dose vaccine, will be administered. With the first shot, you’ll be well on your way to compliance with our vaccination policy requirement for the fall. Additionally, if you are vaccinated, you will be able to avoid periodic surveillance testing this summer, and avoid any chance of being placed into quarantine for 14 days if you are found to be a close contact of an infected person.

The vendor will return to campus, likely on June 3, to administer the second dose. Individuals who are leaving Portland prior to then should investigate and confirm the availability of a second Moderna dose in the area to which they will be traveling prior to signing up for this clinic. The second dose should ideally be administered between about 28 days after the first dose, though it is permissible for the second dose to be administered up to 42 days after the first dose.

Plan to arrive at Pamplin no more than 5 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. We need to maintain social distancing. Wear your mask at all times and maintain at least six feet of distance when queuing at the registration table and while waiting after you have received your shot. Do not report to the clinic if you have recently had any symptoms of COVID or you have recently been exposed to someone with COVID.

There will be no charge to community members for this vaccination clinic. However, please bring photo identification and your insurance card if you have one. (You will receive a vaccination shot regardless of whether you have insurance. However, the vendor will bill insurance companies for those with a valid insurance card.) With your sign-up confirmation email, you will receive a consent form to sign, insurance form, and other vaccination information. This will also be available at the registration table in Pamplin on May 4.

You will be required to remain in Pamplin for at least 15 minutes after receiving your shot and may be required to remain longer if you have a history of certain allergic reactions. Please enter and exit Pamplin through the designated doorways only.

If you have problems using the appointment scheduler or questions related to your appointment time, please contact Franchesca Spann at franchescaspann@lclark.edu. If you have other questions about COVID vaccination, please email covid19info@lclark.edu.

Thank you,
