Dear Students,

Your continued vigilance in adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols and testing compliance is paying off: We have maintained a low infection rate and have been able to successfully track and isolate the few cases that have popped up. As a result, the Office of Student Life has decided to move forward with relaxation of some of the restrictions that have been in place since the start of the semester.

We are happy to report the following policy changes that will be implemented starting Friday, February 12:

  • The Trail Room and Stamm will be open for in-person dining, up to a capacity of 25 in each venue.
  • Students are encouraged to put in applications to hold in-person events in J.R. Howard and Miller as long as occupancy guidelines are adhered to. Submit applications using this form:
  • Residential students will be allowed to move between residence halls. However, since effluent (wastewater) testing continues to be an important part of our COVID-19 surveillance strategy, students must use the restrooms in their own residence halls for solid waste. Additionally, students will be responsible for signing in using a supplied QR code so that we can maintain our contact tracing efforts. Your ADs will be in touch regarding this process. Note: visitation to the residence halls by non-residential students continues to be prohibited.

In order to ensure the success of easing of restrictions, it is critical that we all continue to respect the COVID-19 safety measures by maintaining six-feet of physical distance; wearing a mask; practicing good hygiene; and, if symptoms of the virus develop, fill out the SCARF form in the Health Information Portal, and call the Health Service (or the after-hours nurse line after hours) for consultation.

We appreciate your efforts to support our campus bubble and keep the LC community safe. As always, WeB4Me@LC.

Best regards,

Robin Holmes-Sullivan
Vice President of Student Life
